Ruth Hutton, Senior Content & Creative Specialist at Foundry, will show how these features can enhance your Look Development workflows through native USD collection creation, material assignments, and exports, before jumping into Lighting workflow improvements in Katana 8.0. Here, she’ll be demonstrating the first step towards Katana’s fully native USD lighting toolset. Ruth will also cover how these tools can be used for scene setup and management, with the ability to add bake points, convert entire scenes to USD, and debug more efficiently. He’ll outline the entire production process, including taking and editing photos, and ensuring that high quality grunge maps can be made for the Masks. Stuart will outline the construction and inner workings of the nodes, showing how each piece is connected and adds to the final output. Learn how to put the Masks and utility nodes into use and tweak existing Masks to create the best effect. What’s more, Mari Product Manager Charli Holt will give an overview of the new updates in Mari 7.1 where you can try out Stuart's Smart Masks for yourself.
